Inductors are wound on a nylon bobbin or a paper tube with layer insulation. The core material of the inductor can be an air-core, laminated steel, powder iron, or ferrite material. Inductors can be made with toroidal cores, round slugs, drum cores, EI laminations, or ferrite cores of all shapes and sizes. Adjustable inductors can be designed with the use of a threaded tuning slug.

Typical Applications:

Used in low frequency power supplies as filter chokes, filter circuits, common mode chokes, noise suppression, and high frequency power supplies.

Electrical Characteristics:

Inductors can be designed to operate over a wide range of frequencies, input voltages, and inductance values.

Mechanical Characteristics:

Inductors can be varnish impregnated, molded or potted with epoxy in an enclosure. Inductors are available with fly leads, PCB pins, solder terminals, or screw terminals. Many standard mounting styles are also available.
